WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION: KATRINA AND RITA

Patrick, a confidant secretary of Bush comes hurryingly to Mr Bush's private
office. He looks panicky.

Patrick: Sir, Katrina has rocked the country and Rita is expected to arrive any
time.

Bush: Are they new American Idols?

Patrick: No they have stormed the nation.

Bush: Oh! it's a storm?

Patrick: Kind of. They are hurricane.

Bush: Haariicane? What? Never heard of it?

Patrick: Sir Hurricane means...

Bush interrupts Patrick...

Bush: Oh! Common. I am the President of United States of America; I don't have
to get into intricacies, I have major things to attend. I am the decision maker.
Tell me what am I supposed to do now?

Patrick: Sir, people are criticizing government for not taking an immediate
action after Katrina hit New Orleans. I have arranged your speech on the
National television in the next 10 minutes to rectify the image of the
government.

Bush: Is Al queda involved in this?

Patrick: No sir, it's a natural disaster.

Bush: Do you have a speech ready?

Patrick: I make your pardon sir, but we didn't get an opportunity to prepare it.
I would postpone your address to nation, if you want the speech to be prepared.

Bush: No that's ok. I am good at addressing people, you know that. But, I need a
couple of minutes. I need to attend the nature's call.

Patrick looked puzzled.

Patrick: I am afraid sir; we are running short of time.

Bush: My speech is live on national Television; I can't pass on the note like I
normally pass in the parliament, if I have an emergency.

Patrick: Don't worry sir, you address for 10 minutes and I will manage the rest.

Bush: How can you manage my call, you *&^%?

Patrick: I mean rest of the speech sir. I will also send a note for your
references on the camera facing you.

In the studio, newsreader: " American president is deeply concerned about the
fatalities that hurricane Katrina and Rita have caused. He will now address the
nation. Over to your Mr. President."

Bush: My fellow Americans, I am deeply concerned about dismay that Katrina
brought and the terror that Rita might bring to our nation. America is now used
to of such terrorist attacks and knows how to fight against terrorism.

Patrick: Sir, the speech is about hurricane and not terrorism.

Bush: In my opinion, Katrina and Rita are like Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Patrick: Sir, we haven't found any of them yet. It's a banned word now.

Bush: These weapons are tossed by nature on America to test her patience and
perseverance. In the past, we have shown to the world, how we fight back against
such threats and rise up shining like nothing has ever happened.

Patrick: Sir, government is criticised over not taking an appropriate and timely
measures.

Bush: I take the full responsibility for delay in reaching the security measures
in the affected areas.

Patrick: Sir, security measures are not needed but food and grain is needed.

Bush: I assure you fellow Americans, I will make sure that all the people who
are affected by hurricane will get all the help that is needed to fight back
against the unseen forces of nature. Our intellectual Think Tank will soon find
out who is behind all this.

Patrick: Sir, it's a natural calamity and everyone knows it. Talk about strategy
for Rita.

Bush: I assure you that, our task force will evacuate all the people from the
forthcoming Rita affected areas to minimize the human loss. The loss that we
will not be able to bear any further after the terrorist attacks that America
has evidenced in the recent past.

Let us show to the world, that America is not afraid of any threats; be it,
fight against terrorism or natural calamity (He pointed to the sealing with his
last finger.)

Patrick understood and pointed cameraman to shift the focus on the latest
updates from Rita. Mr bush hurried his way out to emergency measures.
